I like to challenge myself, or my hair rather, to see how long I can actually go without washing it. I used to have to wash it every other day and on the "dirty day," it was in a ponytail. But believe it or not, you can train your hair to go longer. You just have to push through the super greasy days in the beginning.
I now wash my hair once or twice a week depending on workouts, humidity, etc.. and dry shampoo has always been my BFF ( well that and my lover hairspray Kenra, but you already know that). The dry shampoos really do help to absorb the oil but I always felt like they left an additional layer of grit and grim on my hair. Until now! The Living Proof Dry Shampoo has been a game changer for me, it actually cleans your hair....if you do it right! What do I mean by that? Well, I was doing it totally wrong at first. I was spraying in on and waiting 30 seconds like the bottle says and then lightly rubbing it through. It was working but not like REEEALLLLYY working.
Here is my super dirty five-day old hair. Yuck!
So this is how I do it now:
- Brush your hair really well. I like to use this knock off version brush. I feel like it helps pull the oil down from the root.
- Spray the dry shampoo liberally in a sweeping motion AND WAIT! Let all the little miracles activate to some how magically clean your hair.
- Now rub! I mean rub it like a cray lady! I like to massage my head and really shake it through. I mean look at the craziness here.
- Then I will hit it with a blow dryer if there is any white residue still remaining, and brush it though again.
- TA-DA!!!! CLEAN HAIR!!!

After I use dry shampoo it normally goes in a ponytail but with Living Proof I can actually style my hair again and wear it down. This was totally shocking for me!
