My friend Ashley texted me last week as she was cleaning out her closet wondering what to keep and what to toss. You have been there, right? Sitting on your closet floor surrounded by a pile of clothes wondering if you have anything that is worth saving...or wait...is everything worth saving? Wanting to scream and wishing you had never started this nightmare of a project!
My sweet friend is a BUSY stay at home mom of 4 (she has more patience than I could even dream of having) and has been out of the work force for about 7 years. One of the questions she had was if she should keep her "old work jackets" even if she has no plans of returning to the work place. After requesting pics and seeing her cute blazers, I told her that a blazer with a fun tee or tank underneath and jeans is one of my FAVORITE looks. I suggested she roll the sleeves up and put on some cute necklaces and voila! Outfit!
The thing I like most about these layered looks is that it is a perfect way to look pulled together and polished while still expressing yourself without having to put a lot of thought into it. A blazer and jeans is also an easy outfit to take from day to night. You can wear flats during the day and throw on a pair of heels and grab a clutch to take your look into evening.
I just ordered this jacket from Banana Republic and I am obsessed. Love it even more because its available in petite. No altering required. I will wear it casually with a graphic tee on the weekends but will be pairing it with a skirt and blouse for work. Love the versatility!
I also really like this Forever 21 blazer and its a STEAL at $24.90!
Ashley decided to try it out, and rocked the blazer look one evening this past weekend. She sent me this picture and was excited to be wearing her old work blazer and thought it was fun doing something different. Her hubby even said he loved the look on her. How cute is she?!?
I recently wore my pink blazer one night out with my precious friend, Erin. I had this jacket on with leather pants. Sorry I couldn't get a full body pic.
We would love to see pictures of you wearing a blazer and making the look your own!
