New York IS always a good idea! And this week, New York City will host the infamous New York Fashion Week. And in a couple of days, Kris and I will be there rocking our high heels amongst the designers, celebrities, press and fellow bloggers (eeeeekk!). Could you all hear me squealing with excitement? This week is sure to be an incredible experience for us, and we want to take you along for all of the fun. Throughout the week, we will be writing and posting pictures right here on our blog. You can also follow us on Instagram. Plus, for the first time, we will be on Periscope, live streaming from events and parties and whatever else we get ourselves into. All you need to do to join is download the FREE Periscope app, and follow us @krisandjackblog. It will even alert you when we are going live. So cool!
Preparing for this getaway has not been easy. There has been shopping, online shopping, closet shopping, more shopping...but not too much shopping. There is a lot of pressure when it comes to dressing for New York Fashion week. Everyone is there to see one thing: clothes. So, you gotta find some cute stuff to wear. But, at the same time, keep in mind that we are not Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner. We are Kris & Jack, two Texas blogger moms, ready to take over NYC...in our own way :-)
Kris rocks high heels to work everyday, so she will be prepared for all of the walking in 4 inch stilettos. She gave me weekend homework: wear high heels everyday and practice. I made it 5 hours. Start praying for me now! Kris did buy us these roll up flats. I think they are UGLY, but I'm thinking by the end of the day, they are going to be the prettiest shoes I've ever seen!
Based on fashion week research, we've got our back up battery packs, blister band-aids, and hair spray among many other travel essentials. Some other fashion week must-haves include:
1. A tote/cute backpack for all daytime essentials.
2. Statement sunglasses.
3. Umbrella, because you just never know...
4. A leather jacket to make any outfit instantly chic. Also, perfect for cooler temps at night.
5. Red lipstick because it's classic, feminine and stands out in a crowd.
6. Moisturizer! Dry skin is the worst and flying makes it inevitable. So, we will be lathering it on. We have to get our JLo glow on! Haa!
7. Comfortable sneakers (Thank you fashion peeps for making it "cool" to wear cute tennies with just about anything these days...)
We are beyond excited to see the beautiful couture clothes on the runway, outrageous street style, and experience New York City from the fashion point of view. We will do our best to capture it all, and share with you guys. In addition to all of that, we are even more excited about the business opportunities this trip will provide. We are dedicated to making Kris&Jack better; more informative, inspiring, and relevant to you...one outfit at a time!
See you all in the Big Apple!
