Rock It or Stop It: Week 3

Last week you were all split down the middle when it came to rockin' a bandana and wearing your button-up blouse off your shoulders. It's fun to know the kinds of trends you all will try. And we are right there with you!

Our first Fall trend up this week is one you might have tried in some form or fashion. Belts can be a great accessory to add to your outfit, or they can totally throw off what you have going on. I (Jack) have always felt that belts are a bit tricky, and really deserve their own blog post. But, for today, we are going to focus on this single belt trend.

Our figures can easily get lost underneath the bulky sweaters and jackets we start wearing when it gets cooler outside. To help prevent that, and enhance curves, you could try "tying" a belt around your natural waist- over all the bulk! I used my husband's belt for these pics so I had some extra length. You want the belt to be substantial when you are cinching in thicker materials. If you want to enhance your waist while wearing a thin sweater, a skinny belt is perfect.

But, this trend encourages a bold belt wrapped around a jacket, layered over a sweater. I certainly felt like my outfit was more put together when I gave it a try. My waist was definitely more defined too. I also love to borrow from my husband's closet...it's like getting something new for free! I can see myself giving this trend a try if I was going to a chilly outdoors event, where I knew my jacket was a must. Otherwise, dealing with the belt could be a bit cumbersome.

But, we want to know your thoughts, would you Rock It or Stop It?

Now, booties with socks. Lets talk about it.

It seems this trend has been around the last few fall seasons, and I personally like it. I know its not for everyone, but I think it can be really cute and add something fun and unexpected to your look. However, after Jack accused me of looking like a teenager (and not in a youthful, glowing, amazing wrinkle free skin kind of way) in these pictures, I am not sure I can confidently rock this look anymore!

I really do like the way the the socks add something different! I feel like it is an easy and inexpensive way to totally change up an entire outfit and add some color! Another way I have worn this look is with leggings and a longer sweater or tunic style top.  Maybe Jack will approve of this and find it more age appropriate!

What do you think, would you Rock It or Stop It?

Wow, I (Jack) was kinda mean about the socks. I just feel like it's my friend/fashion obligation to be honest. Love you, Kris! Bunches and bunches...

Wishing you all the best week, filled with sweet friends that (maybe in a nicer way than I did) help you decide whether to rock it or stop it when you hit a fashion fork in the road!

xo,

kris&jack
